JOB TITLE: Superintendent/Executive Director
REPORTS TO: Claremont School Board
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
EXPECTED START DATE: July 1, 2026
The Claremont School Board seeks candidates for its Superintendent/Executive Director position who have high professional standards and fortitude to lead the district to become the number one school system in New Hampshire.
About the Claremont School District:
The Claremont School Board consists of seven (7) members elected by voters residing within the District’s boundaries. Board Members are elected to an unpaid three-year term. The Claremont School District educates approximately 1,500 students, ages pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The District consists of two elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and one career and technical center.
Qualifications:
New Hampshire Department of Education Superintendent certification or statement of eligibility, or
Advance degree in Administration or equivalent study, or
Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
About the Position:
The Claremont School District has faced an approximate $5 million deficit and a decline in student achievement, caused by many years of mismanagement. The Board seeks a proven candidate with an exceptional record for rebuilding school districts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Strong communicator, decisive decision maker, and effective delegator
A builder of trust and capacity throughout the school community
Expertise in the areas of teaching and learning
Understands the importance of balance when considering the needs of students and limits of finances

Experience in hiring and monitoring employees that are or will:
Highly qualified, properly mentored, and participate in a rigorous professional development model
Comply with the laws and policies affecting the School District
Working cooperatively with the School Board, the successful candidate will:
Ensure academic success as defined by standardized test results and growth metrics.
Focus on the ongoing improvement of student achievement
Promote a district-wide safe climate and culture that allows students to flourish and to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially
Evaluating Candidates:
The School Board seeks a strong educational leader with a demonstrated record of attaining results in fiscal management and student achievement. Demonstrated competency in the following areas is of importance to the School Board:

Working Conditions:
Mental demands: calculating, comparing, editing, problem-solving, evaluating, interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, planning, designing, documenting, specifying, coordinating, implementing, and presenting both simple and complex information and material. It is also anticipated that stress will be associated with this position primarily due to the demands of this position.
